10 Things to Brighten & Uplift your Atmosphere Now

Right now, across the world, humans are all being asked (some ordered by law) to self -quarantine for global health. Being told to stay indoors and not gather with others may feel incredibly lonely and difficult right now. Creating a supportive, calming and uplifting home atmosphere may help us find ease during this time. The health of our atmosphere deeply impacts our physical and emotional health. There is a saying "The most important work you do takes place within the four walls of your home." and this concept is most important during these times. If you are in a household with children and other adults, these small action steps can quickly make for a space that is homey and comforting for all. Creating a less stressful and fearful atmosphere within your shared space can make or break our remaining days in quarantine. Remaining grounded and calm is #1 for our immune system and our relationships. As my Papa used to say "keep the faith", and I am, yes I am. I know we will get through this. Together. Day by day.

I would be amiss to not include the importance of positive thinking. Author William Walker Atkinson writes in his book, "Practical Mental Influence and Mental Fascination":

"When a thought or a feeling is generated in the mind or brain of a person, the energy generated flows forth from the brain of the person in the forms of waves of mental energy, spreading from the immediate neighborhood of the thinker to a distance proportioned to the strength of the thought or feeling. The thought waves have the property of awakening similar vibrations in the minds of other persons coming within their field of force." I am also very aware that sometimes keeping those high vibe intentions and thoughts flowing can get tricky...especially when there is so much fear and negativity surrounding us.

Which is why I am being guided to offer these tips to help support and uplift us.

Late last night, I sat with my Guides and asked them what simple steps we can take to support our emotional atmospheres. Here is what I received:

1. Natural light! Sunlight is beautifully healing and comforting. Natural lighting uplifts and encourages us to be more productive, aides in supporting emotional health and is calming. Open curtains and blinds and let the sunshine in. Also, lighting a candle or turning on a battery-operated candle sets a peaceful ambiance.

2. Scents! Have you ever walked into a home, smelled all of the yummy smells, and suddenly felt at Home. Chocolate chip cookies, lavender, citrus, baked apple pie, freshly baked bread. Can you smell each ingredient as you read this? Me too! Right now, on my stovetop in a deep pasta pot, I have a beautiful mix that has been simmering since yesterday and it is divine! (Recipe and image shared below) My 17 year old daughter, who's having a difficult time during this, skipped down the stairs and said; "Our home smells so good. Whatever it is, it feels secure and homey!" I literally grabbed my pen and wrote her words down to share with you...It was at that moment I knew my guidance was to be fully and completely trusted with writing this.

3. Creativity! Anything creative! Such as crafting, coloring, knitting, drawing, writing, dancing, singing, playing an instrument, painting, etc.. can help focus the mind, and has even been compared to meditation due to its calming effects on the brain and body. Creativity reduces anxiety, depression, and stress… And it can also help process trauma. DETACH AND CREATE.

4. Music-Healing Sounds! Today, I am specifically directing us to healing sounds such as; Rain falling, birds chirping, nature sounds, flutes, drumming, chanting, etc. These sounds help reduce heart rate, alleviates anxiety and depression, lifts our mood and even invites positive thoughts and feelings. These sounds can be found on Google, YouTube, and all music apps such as Spotify. Playing these sounds in the background elevates any atmosphere.

5. 528hz Music! The 528 tone activates your imagination, intention, and intuition to operate for your highest and best purpose. "528 Hz has earned a reputation for its ability to reach and repair the very biological building blocks of our being, namely our cells and DNA.

Dr. Leonard Horowitz has been crucial in spreading the word on this “miracle” tone, but its use is much older and wider than that." I am going to encourage you to do more research on this, as this alone is a book of information. If I may suggest listening to 528hz during sleep is optimal. Type '528hz music' in Google or Youtube....and give it a try before a nap and bedtime!

6. Hands to heart and stomach! Placing a hand on your heart center and the other hand on your tummy or solar plexus is an intimate and compassionate act. Once each hand is placed, set the intention and focus on hearing and feeling your breath. Connecting with your body through touch and breath can be profound. Our hands are powerful transmitters of energy. They work similarly to a magnet. This is a powerful quick intention to ground, collect, and stabilize your energy. You will feel anchored, connected, safe, and secure. You'll know when you need to do this and you'll know when to stop. Trust.

7. Receive! I am specifically using the word RECEIVE not listen. Listening is an activity and that requires our mind to be active. In this case, an active mind doesn't leave much room for incoming feelings and impressions. We have more of an advantage when our mind is open and free of cluttering ego. Some simple ways to allow yourself to begin to deeply and intimately begin receiving: Take deep long breaths that cause your chest, shoulders, and abdomen to move. As you inhale, imagine you're taking in Divine compassionate love and letting it fill your whole body. Receive the softness of a blanket. Feel your partner's kiss; Let the loving energy come into you. Allow your animal companion to give you love and really take it in. Feel the sunlight on your face and skin and receive its energy into your body. Be conscious and actually receive the nutritious food and water as you chew and swallow. Feel gratitude for this nourishment. These receiving exercises can help heal deprivation.

8. Stretch! Get the stiffness and tension out- both energetically and physically! Stretching helps us with blood flow, increases energy, and helps release tension in our muscles. It just feels good to reach for the sky. Touch the stars. Wiggle the toes. Circle the hips. And, BREATHE as you liven and awaken your beautiful body.

9. Schedule! For the most part, our daily routines have been flipped upside-down. SO we are being called to create new-at least for the time being. We need direction, goals, and purpose to our day..it's just how we operate. So, it's up to us to create this for ourselves. Structure helps us focus and maintain a sense of accomplishment. Take a few moments each morning or night and write down a few things that you'd like to get done around the home or garden. It feels good to check things off!

10. Flowers and Plants! Flowers and plants bring feelings of vitality and improve our mindset. The effect of plants has a special way about them that lifts the spirit and brings happiness. An environment that includes natural elements such as flowers and/or plants brings a positive outlook on life and boosts us into feeling more alive and active. Cut fresh flowers and bring them in, place them where you spend the most time. If you get out to the market for essentials and have a few extra dollars for bright flowers, treat yourself.

My sincere love and light to you. There are a lot of shifts and uncertainties at this time. While it may be overwhelming, if we can avoid getting caught up in fear and desperation we will be able to move from a higher consciousness of faith and trust.
